Clonie & Dot  - our fourteenth contribution (by Andie Hallihan). This is the story of Clonbony Fire and Dot2Dot - take it away.

Clonbony Fire was a four year old black and white male who we found at the Wood Green Animal Shelter, Godmanchester. We had gone in search of a short haired dog to join our home. We thought we had been unsuccessful, as we were about to leave we spotted this handsome lad sat on the grass, watching all the other dogs frantically trying to get prospective owners' attentions. We took him for a walk but were quite concerned at how little of a personality he had. His carer showed him a furry dragon and that was it "Kill it, Kill it" Clonie instantly started to play - we were sold and after a frantic week building a kennel and run we brought him home. At 35kg he made our house look really tiny. At first he suffered from separation anxiety at night, but we got over that ok. Six weeks later we decided that we would like a pal for him, as we were at work during the day. This time we got in touch with the Greyhound Trust who found us Dot2Dot, a five year old white and brindle bitch. They had met quite a few times on long Sunday walks and during my next holiday Dot came home and fitted in straight away. Clonie was not quite sure what all this fuss was about but he quickly cottoned on that he was meant to play with her and that meant chasing each other around the garden - totally ruining our lawn!! A year on they have both completed a companion obedience course, get spoilt rotten and laze around all day chasing bunnies in their sleep. They still go to the Trust's rehoming kennels to walk others awaiting homes, which they really enjoy.

I would recommend greyhounds to anyone thinking of a new pet, if I had the time and money, our home would be full of them!!
