Kelly - our twenty seventh contribution (by Richey Gerrard From Cornwall)

This is our greyhound, Kelly. We acquired her only 2 weeks ago from an old couple that used to race a few apparently. An advert in the local Bargain pages read, "Greyhound bitch, free to good home". The meeting that evening was terrible for Kelly, They met us half way (no home visit!), It was windy and she was as nervous as anything. All we were given was her collar, lead and race book. No bowl, toys or anything.

Now she is getting used to us, knows most of the sniffs on her walk, and no-one else gets a go on the sofa!! Another sofa will be coming shortly for us to use!

The first few days were quite eventful, getting pet insurance, organising a vet, realising we didn't have her vaccinations book. Then de-fleaing her, the house and car! Luckily she doesn't mind getting in the shower!

She loves going for gallops on the local beaches, not minding paddling in the sea and rock pools! She always pauses by the car as we leave to go a walk round the block, with that greyhound look of 'please take me to the beach!!'

Many thanks for a wonderful site, I've spent all morning reading through it! I'll be sending off my money for the extended pedigree shortly!!

Many thanks,
